A Sacred National Establishment

The Thakur Ramsingh Itihas Shodh Sansthan is a sacred national establishment born from the resolve of the venerable Thakur Ramsingh Ji. Its noble mission is to bring to light the 197 crore year history of humanity, strengthening the national psyche through a true understanding of India's glorious traditions.

Background Story

The institute's story is intertwined with its founder, Thakur Ramsingh Ji (b. 1915). A lifelong organizer for the RSS, he was entrusted in 1988 with the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana (Indian History Compilation Project) under the guidance of the Honorable Moropant Pingle Ji.

A Devoted Patron: Shri Inderjit Kapur

The institute's journey was profoundly shaped by Shri Inderjit Kapur, a Mumbai-based industrialist who became a devoted patron of the cause. He declared he would finance the construction of two research centers, viewing the project as his personal mission. His humility was captured in his words:

All that I have belongs to The Almighty and I am His cashier only.

Founding the Centers

Following a rigorous selection process, Neri village in Himachal Pradesh, historically known as 'Dev Bhumi' (Land of the Gods), was chosen. The location was ideal for its temperate climate and deep historical resonance, being near Mount Sumeru, which is held to be the site of humanity's origin.

Construction & Inauguration

The foundation stone was laid on Oct 7, 2002. The first building, "Smt. Uttam Devi Kapoor Bhavan," was inaugurated on Mar 20, 2005. The second, "Madhav Bhavan," was inaugurated on Oct 27, 2006.

Mission & Philosophy

The institute aims to rewrite India's history from a native perspective, countering colonial distortions. It posits a 197 crore year history beginning at Mount Sumeru and is committed to presenting a vivid picture of national life based on Indian sources and modern research.

Academic Symposiums

Symposium on Alexander's Invasion

October 2006

Focused on countering the narrative of Alexander the Great's conquest, featuring an address by Shri K.S. Sudarshan Ji on national self-recognition.

We need to recognize ourselves... This ambiguity must end. What we were has been distorted.

— Venerable K.S. Sudarshan Ji

Symposium on Creation

May 2008

Explored the "Concept of Creation of the Universe in Folk Tradition," with guests like Shri Ashok Singhal emphasizing the need to restore a true sense of history.

The Indian Philosophy of Creation

The institute's core cosmology views the cycle of creation as eternal. The primordial location, the Himalayas, was identified based on five criteria. It is believed that from primordial waters, Mount Sumeru emerged, where the creator, Shri Brahma, appeared and initiated the cycle of life through the seven great sages (Saptarishis).

Vision of the Institute

Core Objectives

The institute's vision is to research and document the 197 crore year history of India, as detailed in its ancient literature. It aims to counter colonial and divisive distortions by presenting a truthful narrative based on authentic evidence and the traditional Indian scientific system of time calculation (Kālaganana). The ultimate goal is to produce historical work that is character-building, culturally enriching, and rooted in the national philosophy of life, thereby bringing India's glorious past to the masses.
